From Poems of Brevity

I planted a seed

That might not grow.

Nothing’s guaranteed,

Go with the flow.

I prayed a prayer

God might say yes.

Life’s not fair,

It’s anybody’s guess.

I gave my heart

It might not break.

Was returned ripped apart,

We all make mistakes.

Life’s about choosing

Death’s choice is none.

Not trying is losing

Knowing says you’ve won.

About John Northcutt Young

I write. Remember making-up stories from spelling words in the fifth grade. A journalism degree followed. Thanks for looking.
